The Pre-Competition Briefing Session for the 2nd Midwifery Skills Event of the 2025 Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition was successfully held at Shanghai Honglian Medical Technology Group on November 7th, 2025.

The BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "BRICS Competition") is an international event recognized by the Preparatory Committee for the 2017 BRICS Summit, filed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and approved by the BRICS Business Council. Launched in 2017, it has been successfully held for eight sessions, with a total of over 450,000 participants in competitions, relevant meetings, exhibitions, technical exchanges and other activities. For eight consecutive years, it has been included as an achievement in the BRICS Business Council Work Report and submitted to the heads of state of BRICS countries.

The BRICS Competition has kicked off the prelude to skill competitions and technological innovation cooperation among BRICS countries, becoming an important platform for promoting educational cooperation, skill development and people-to-people exchanges among BRICS countries. It has been highly recognized by all BRICS countries and supported by relevant units affiliated to the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the China Association for Science and Technology. The Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition has been included in the competition catalog of the Analysis Report on University Students' Competitions issued by the Chinese Society of Higher Education.
